Hi Viv - Both of the Sonarray and Garden series outdoor systems are based on an 8.1 speaker to subwoofer ratio, so 8 satellite speakers & 1 in-ground subwoofer. They both are specified with our Digital Signal Processing (DSP) amplifier, model SR 2-125. Both systems can be expanded to become a 16.2 system with a single SR 2-125 amplifier. The Garden series has a slightly different satellite (two-way with 3/4" dome tweeter), with additional mounting options, and the overall system plays louder. An 8.1 Sonarray is great for covering about 2,500 square feet, while a 8.1 Garden series is 3,500 square feet. Sonarray is $2,999.98 and Garden series is $3,999.98.
