Hi, Thank you for your question! For lightly rusted grilles or covers, the best approach is to use a rust-inhibiting spray paint designed for metal surfaces. Before painting, we recommend lightly sanding the affected areas to remove any loose rust, then applying a primer made for metal (ideally rust-preventative), followed by a thin coat of spray paint. A few tips for the best results: • Use light, even coats to avoid clogging the grille perforations • Choose a matte or satin finish for a clean, low-reflection look • Make sure the grille is completely dry before reinstalling Avoid using thick or brush-on paints, as they can block the holes in the grille and impact sound performance. I hope you found this information helpful. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to our California-based support team at 949-492-7777.
