“I have a Samsung Q7F (2017). Why can I not get Atmos to play out of the Arc even though I have it connected to my HDMI (arc) on my Q7? I am playing Atmos content from my Apple TV 4K, also connected to TV. Will Sonos allow Atmos to play on 3year old TV’s?”

AppleTV requires the use of an eARC port to output Dolby Atmos due to the Atmos coding that the device uses. If your native apps on your television support Dolby Digital+ output those would provide Atmos to the Sonos Arc for playback.

Your TV HDMI output must be the eARC standard to take advantage of this feature. However, the speaker is very good and will give you a great experience in Dolby Digital the way you have it connected. In a certain setting or room size, I will bet you can’t even tell the difference between Atmos and standard Dolby.
