If you have the external sub connected to a Sonos Amp then yes you can. I have a Denon external sub connected to a Sonos Amp, then when using the Arc you just have to open the Sonos App and group it with the Sonos Amp (wireless). I haven't found a way to permanently connect them so seems like you just have to do it each time, but its easy.
