“I have one Sonos speaker. I love it. My question is can I hook up this connect to my tv and basically use my speaker as a sound for my tv.”

I don't know the answer to this question. We have all of our Sonos speakers connected through other Sonos speakers. For our surround system, we connect a Sonos Playbar, Sonos Subwoofer and Sonos Ones connected through the Playbar and Sonos Connect. An optical/digital cable connects the TV and Playbar. That is the only connection we have to the TV. We have our DVD player connected to the TV through a HDMI cable so we c an get the sound from movies sent from the TV to the Playbar. Works great and produces great sound.

No because the connect can not receive the audio signal from the TV. You could connect it to the input of your TV and have the Sonos signal play out your TV speakers .

That is a bad design..... you need a BEAM or Playbar if you connect to a TV. The Sonos small speakers do not work with a TV remote control for volume.
