Sonos uses Tunein to stream radio stations so if your station is available on Tunein you can stream it. All of my local radio stations were available in Tunein. If the station is not available or you wish to stream YouTube or other apps from your phone you would have to buy a separate Bluetooth receiver and hook it up to the connect.

If being able to stream to A/V system connected speakers from a smartphone is your only reason for buying a Sonos Connect though, there are much cheaper options. You could buy a Amazon Echo Dot and then use the output to connect into your receiver with a 3.5mm to 2 RCA cable. Personally unless you plan on building a Sonos speaker system I don't see much reason to buy a Connect in this case.

Sonos does not have the compatibility with Android that it does with iOS/Airplay. Nevertheless, there are over 80 audio services, including radio, that can be added to the Sonos app so you do not have to stream from your phone. Rather, Sonos pulls it directly from the internet and plays it on your Sonos system. This has the benefit of freeing up bandwidth on your wireless network. If you are streaming audio to the phone then streaming it to Sonos, you are essentially using twice the bandwidth. See here for a list of Sonos's compatible audio services. https://www.sonos.com/en-us/streaming-music
