The Connect should be thought of as a sound system peripheral that brings the Sonos App to your current wired home system. If the AW6500s are not connected to an existing amp/receiver then you will need the Sonos Amp to use them.

Please try again later.Sonos has multiple styles, I have one that is made to be used with an existing amp to use hard wired speakers, Sonos has a unit that puts out 150 watts per channel that you can connect directly to your speakers also, or one you run wirelessly, too wireless speakers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If the speakers are passive, meaning there is no built-in amplifier, then no. Sonos does offer the Connect Amp, which will work however. The Connect Amp has a built-in amplifier and streamer and you can control the volume with the companion Sonos app so you can use it with the Connect Amp.
