“I have 10 year old Panasonic plasma tv that has hdmi but the LG sound bar I just bought requires optical. Will this adapter work in this application?”

I’m in the same situation. Would really like to hear if this works. I have an old sharp aquos and a Sonos playbar. Can you please update

It's actually designed to work the other way around, but it may work as it's just an audio signal and there really isn't any "directional" information being sent. We can't guarantee it though as that's not technically what it was designed for.
