• If you go into a Best Buy and sound test them (I have), I think that the subwoofer adds a LOT to the soundbar setup. My chouice would be a subwoofer.

• subwoofer enhances the sounds and experience. I actually have my sub under my couch and makes for a unique experience . I got the bar and sub. just added the 5 for another room
