QuestionWill the Sonos Playbar support Dolby 5.1 with my new Sony X930D 55" television? I see some people say it will not but also that Sony released a firmware to allow Dolby 5.1 pass through via optical out. Would that give me 5.1 through the Playbar? Thanks!

- Answer To get 5.1 sound you need the PLAYBAR, woofer, and 2 shelf speakers. The optical out from your TV will play anything inputted on the PLAYBAR in digital sound.

QuestionNeed some some help with a decision. I am buying a sound bar but do not know which one to buy. It's either going to be the Sonos Playbar or the Bose Soundbar 300. Help me out on which one to buy!!!

- Answer You won't be disappointed with Sonos. You'll wonder why you waited so long. I like Bose but Sonos has more clarity.

- Answer The Sonos Playbar: works great with my Samsung 8 series SUHD TV. Geek Squad came and installed the system 2 months ago and I love the system--for TV programming, Internet radio, other streaming, Blu-ray movies, and all my game systems. It works great. (I've used flat screens from Samsung for over 10 years, and never have had any problems connecting them to new tech.)

QuestionWhen hooked to play 1 as rear speakers, is it a multi channel that is providing a true surround sound or is it the same sounds as the sound bar?

- Answer The Play 1s will play the rear sounds and function as a true surround sound experience. It is not the same sound as the sound bar. You can go into settings and change this for when you are listening to music however, and the system remembers based on the activity. So, for music all speakers play the same thing, but for movies and tv it functions as a traditional surround sound.

QuestionWe currently have 2 Sonos speakers and a Connect. The connect is on its leg. We are thinking about adding the Playbar. Will we still need to replace the Connect Or does the playbar serve the same purpose? Thank you!!

- Answer Connect can do the proper job. Unless you want to use it for TV and need more stronger Home Theater, I do not know what gain you will get from adding playbar.

- Answer It has wifi capability in addition to a wired Ethernet port. I have mine on my home wifi network, and it works fine.

- Answer Sound bar, sub and two rear satellite speakers There are no front channel speakers. Front and center channel speakers incorporated in sound bar. No sure about wattage

QuestionTV doesn't have an optical audio out but my BluRay player and Xfinity X1 cable box do. I've seen optical audio cable splitters on Amazon for $10. Will I lose any signal quality or content by using a $10 optical audio cable splitter. What should I use??

QuestionI have a SONOS sound bar and small speakers for one room. I would like to have it also on TV down stairs and music in other rooms. Do I need to buy another sound bar for the down stairs TV? How do I get this done.?

- Answer You will definitely need another sound bar for the TV downstairs because the TVs can only connect to the play bar using an optical cable. Maybe they will come out with a firmware update in the future which will allow you to connect it wirelessly to your tv like Samsung does with its speakers.

Questionthe player support DOLBY ATMOS?

- Answer No. This speaker only supports Dolby Digital. If you try to play a dolby atmos track you will get no sound. You will need a blu-ray player or device that can transcode dolby atmos to dolby digital. I suspect this is because Sonos doesn't have any products with upward firing speakers that would support Atmos.
