Not sure what components you purchased, but I control my Sonos sound bar (connected to my LG OLED TV) from my iPhone from anywhere in my home with the TV off. Easy. I have not tried it from my computer since I always have my iPhone with me and it’s so simple to operate. I can also control it from my Amazon Alexa by just telling Alexa what to play on which Sonos speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.simply put, yes. Use the SONOS application on your computer and set it's music library as one of the shared sources to the Sonos System. You can get some help with how to do this here at the SONOS support page: https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/261/~/adding-and-updating-your-music-library TV does NOT need to be on, however there is a cool feature you might like. By default when you turn your TV power on the SONOS Soundbar changes it's source from music playing over to the TV audio. And you can use your TV/Universal remote to control the Sonos volume... You'll love it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So long as your computer has the Sonos controller downloaded and is connected to the same network you can stream from anywhere within that network. I often stream music directly from my phone or laptop without turning on the TV. Sonos has also added support so that you can stream your music directly from Spotify, without going through the controller. So long as you’re on the same network.
