A:AnswerTo use an existing third party subwoofer, you'd wire it into a CONNECT:AMP, which has a 2 volt subwoofer out, along with third party speakers. But your sub cannot be bonded with the PLAYBAR and grouping it would likely have an echo or delay which I wouldn't recommend.
A:AnswerYou absolutely can separate the playbar and sub from any other Sonos speakers, as each speaker is assigned a room. You can play each speaker simulation with different music, and tv.
A:AnswerYes. Once you add the sub, it’s a great 3.1 surround. At this point I have the soundbar, sub, and 2 Sonia Ones for my main floor. I use 2 Play 5’s outdoors ( I carry them out when I want sound outside) and the easily fill the backyard of a 1/3 acre lot.
A:AnswerYes you can mount on wall with optional brackets. But.. you need a hdmi wire to the tv and a power outlet to plug into. We have concealed conduits to run our wires so the bar is all you see
A:AnswerThe Play Bar with Sub Woofer are the way to go supplemented with two Play 3's or Play 1's for surround sound. Or in lieu of adding the Play 3's or Play 1's for rear speakers, just group your Play 5 as a rear speaker initially. Then you can listen to your music through all three when not viewing TV. You can always add more Sonos later if you desire. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerIt will cost more but sounds amazing. Plus it will all work together correctly if they all match. With the LG sound bar, it wouldn't be part of the system unless you used the ConnectAmp on it as well. It would only play TV sound, not the streaming music.
A:AnswerYes- it can be used just like a Sonos "Play" speaker. It can be connected with ethernet to the router, which is preferred, but you can also set it up via wifi only, and it is not too much tougher to do.
A:AnswerYou can pair with the sound bar for surround sound but not with a mismatched set ( Play5 and a Play3). I suggest you buy an additional Play3 you don't need a Play5 for surround sound. Better yet buy two Play1's for the surround sound function and use your Play5 and Play 3 for non TV sound. You can connect then for multi-room SOUNOS sound if you like that will work. Just don't use them as part of your TV sound system.
A:AnswerIt shouldn't, but it depends on how low your TV is to the table.
The speaker has 2 "orientations" it can be:
"upright" where it is about 5.5" tall or,
"flat" where it is about 3.5" tall.
Assuming it is on the stand, you can turn the speaker to the other orientation which is sideways.
A:AnswerYou should have no issues with that setup PROVIDED the Samsung TV has the optical audio out jack. Most newer sets have that option. SONOS lists TVs by model that are incompatible with the PLAYBAR on their support site.
