I think it boils down to personal preference and your needs. Both sound great, we decided to put the Playbar in the Living Room and mount it to the wall under the TV above the fireplace and put the Playbase in the bedroom. I didn't want to mount anything on the wall in the bedroom and our bedroom tv is smaller (32") so it sits right on top of the Playbase. This setup works perfect for us and I was very impressed with how well the Playbase sounds in the bedroom even with a TV sitting on top of it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Playbase has a built in sub. If you already have the standalone sub, no need to switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No need to switch from a playbase setup! This should be used for an additional entertainment session.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The PlayBase is a better option if you can't wall mount the PlayBar. When I moved, I was not able to wall mount my TV or the Sonos, so the PlayBar did not point the speakers in the right direction. Now with the PlayBase the dialog sounds much clearer as the speakers are oriented in the correct direction.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my opinion no. PlayBase hase a little more low end that the PlayBar, But if you have a PlayBar and Sub, you have the best Low Frequency response.
