• I would guess it would depend if your receiver is able to “wake” by input devices. I have to manually power on my powered bookshelf speakers (KEF LS50) on every time before being able to listen.

• There are two methods to achieve this from the Port, and it all depends on the features of your amp/receiver. 1) Port has a 12v trigger output, so if your amp has a 12v trigger INPUT, then you can hook up a cable, and the Port will turn your amp on and off. Or, if your amp is like mine (NAD C368), you can skip the trigger cable, as the amp can auto-sense an input signal and power up after detecting the input. Either way, you need to look at the User Guide for your amp for one of these features.
