“I have a floating shelf under my tv, would it be fine to mount this 4” under the shelf, reason I ask is the shelf is 12” deep and will hang over top of the bar.. I know there are upward facing speakers in the bar. I don’t want it to tamper with the sound.”

No. Do not mount a sonos arc where anything is directly above it covering the upward speakers. The speakers are meant to aim the sound up to the ceiling and bounces back down. You will disrupt the designed flow of sound waves. It’s best to place the soundbar 4-6” below and some inches forward of your tv. If it’s sitting on a media stand, push the soundbar forward to the edge of the console.
