A:AnswerI travel a lot on airplanes. I use them even when off, while reading. They especially block out the drone of the engines. I do still hear the announcements over the intercom Use the noise cancelling while watching a movie, etc. They work well.
A:AnswerI wasn't able to get mine to pair with the TV. However, this Sony TV has had bluetooth pairing issues in general. You can always go wired if you have a cord extender.
A:AnswerIf the TV has bluetooth, you shouldn't have an issue connecting these to a TV. If the TV doesn't have bluetooth, you can get a transmitter that plugs in through the optical, headphone jack, or RCA on the TV. Assuming you're looking for a pair of headphones specifically for listening to a TV, I'd suggest a pair of Sennheiser's designed for that. They come from with a base station that plugs into the same jacks and sends a wireless signal to the headphones. The sound quality is great and it provides a more stable connection than bluetooth for around the same price as these.
A:AnswerFrom what I understand the sound would not be coordinated with the picture. They are great headphones for everything else. I think you need bluetooth headphones made for tv use.
A:AnswerActually I was able to pair—I just had to keep the transmitter disconnected from the receiver and the headphones disconnected from the phone. It took several minutes but they did pair and the distance range exceeds my expectations. I’m losing hearing to age and even hearing aids don’t help much in some sound levels (mostly lower tones). This lets me free range throughout the house while watching TV and being able to hear everything. While my primary use is still blocking airplane noise with music during business travel, the added TV interconnectability is a huge benefit that helps justify the cost. I had the first set of digital NC headphones Sony put out and this is an even better replacement.
A:AnswerThe optimize feature runs once, then the setting is saved to the headset. I was able to connect the headset to something besides my phone, and the settings sounded the same. I have owned my headset for almost two weeks and I only ever had to optimize once.
A:AnswerThere's an EQ where you can bump it up, but I don't feel like it has the same levels of bass as the MDR-XB950BTs. I actually hated how boomy those headphones were and always had the boost off, but if you want the bass boost over the noise cancelling these are probably not the best choice for you.
A:AnswerSounds defective, better return these and get a replacement. I had no problem charging mine and they even had a little bit of charge for me to listen to a few songs right out of the box.
