Is your PS3 outputting audio in PCM mode? If so the PS3 is handling the decoding and since the AVR isn't the lights won't light up. Switch the PS3 to bitstream and the AVR will decode the audio. Which sounds better is up to you- I like bitsrream because it lights up the logos on the AVR so I know I have my source in Surround sound without digging through a bunch of menus.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to have the components connected to the receiver and not the tv in order to get all the codecs to work. Connect via HDMI ARC to the tv only, then you should be able to get the menu to show up. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to come up. I hope this helps.
