“Weird question.....is there a way to turn the standby mode sleep mode off and leave on at all times? Reason being the clicking noise it makes before turning on freaks my dog out because my last one blew and that's the last noise she heard before the bang”

yes just go into the settings on the receiver and turn off standby mode ( i had to do this because it kept turning off after so long when no sound is played)
