Yes, you can install speakers that are in another room. Connect the lanai speakers to the connectors labelled 'Surround Back/Front B'. 'Front B' essentially means you now have a Speaker A / Speaker B setup. In the speaker configuration settings, you can play audio through the 5-channel Speaker A (and not Speaker B), through Speaker B only (two-channel in the lanai), or through both Speaker A and Speaker B (both rooms). But by doing this, you are not able to have a 7-channel speaker setup in the main room, only 5 channels (since you are using channels 6-7 for the two lanai speakers). In my house I went a step further. I have three extra speaker sets connected to the Speaker B panel. I purchased a speaker splitter box, that I connected to the Speaker B right/left connectors. The splitter box can switch on/off speakers from 5 other rooms, so I wired in my dining room, living room, outside deck, and backyard pool, all wires feeding into the splitter. Then I can turn 'Speaker B' on (from the Sony), and also turn each extra room on/off from the splitter box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To my knowledge this receiver does not support multi-room mode. The 7.2 setup can be used in pro logic iix, rear surround or bi-amp modes.
