• Hi, all inputs and output of this unit are HDCP2.2 compatible and support 4K 60p 4:4:4 / HDR for true 4K quality. Thanks! ^Ron

• This receiver has 4K pass through, so the answer is, no you would not need a better receiver to get 4K content to your tv.
