“Just purchased this receiver to go with my sony900e 55"tv. No instructions came with it.Open box. Which HDMI port on TV should be used to plug into receiver to get sound? Also should I run optical cable from TV to receiver or from my DISH DVR to receiver?”

Hi Scootymac, The HDMI labeled as ARC on the TV is the one where the receiver should be connected. No need to connect an optical cable to the TV or receiver as long as the cable box is plugged into the receiver via HDMI or component cables. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your TV has an HDMI IN with ARC, use that input. If so, your will only need that cable. If no ARC on the TV HDMI, then you will need to run a separate optical cable for HD sound.
