“Can this soundbar handle existing surround sound consisting of 4 speakers and one subwoofer already in place?”

• The soundbar is in place and it makes a tremendous difference. We have a large open room with lots of windows and a stone floor which was making it hard to hear the TV. So this worked out beautifully. We highly recommend it.

• Hi Barb287, thank you for your question. This unit has only two front-facing speakers and a sub that are stand-alone. It only has a surround effect which is depending on the input signal and the sound mode setting, ~Earl
