Yes! You can program this soundbar to a Comcast/Xfinity remote. Just look up the digit code for the manufacturer (it IS included on the list in Comcast's remote control user guide) and follow the steps in the user guide provided by Comcast to program it as an AUX device. It will power on and off and adjust volume through the Comcast remote. (I think you press Aux, hold "setup" until the light blinks, enter the digit code, and Aux blinks twice if correct (I believe). Easy, takes 20 seconds.

I push the "all on" button on the Comcast remote and my TV, cable box, and sound bar all turn on. I did not have to program anything (advantages of HDMI cables).

To program the comcast remote to control the sound bar's on/off function, go to the comcast.com website and download the program guide for your comcast remote. For the comcast 3 function remote, to assign the sound bar to the "AUX" button, turn on the sound bar and press the comcast remote's "AUX" button once. Press and hold the "Setup" button until "AUX" button blinks twice. Enter the sound bar's 5 digit code (I used 31759 for the Sony HT-XT1)), and the "AUX" button will blink twice. Press the "Power" button, and the sound bar should turn-off. To turn on (or off) the TV, cable box and the sound bar simultaneously, press the comcast remote's "All On" button. The comcast remote will control the sound bar's volume through the TV's HDMI (ARC) connection. You will still need the sound bar's remote to change settings, and features, but won't need it if you're just watching TV or an attached media device (such as bluray).

You would use your COMCAST remote to change channels. If you have the option to program and control an external device with your Comcast remote, you should refer to Comcast remote control programming for further instructions. I programmed the remote to my SONY Bravia TV to provide many of the functions the HT XT1 remote provides such as changing inputs and volume control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You may try using the comcast remote on this unit but it doesn't guarantee that it will work and the direction and codes will come from them. Thanks. -Joffrey
