“I am planning on installing this unit in an RV. There are no existing AM/FM antenna feeds. Are antenna's needed for this unit to work properly on AM/FM channels? If antennas are required, would a simple length of wire suffice or what do you recommend?”

Hi James, The antennas are needed to provide signal to the receiver. The receiver is already supplied with the necessary antennas for the tuner feature. You may refer to page 17 of this link for more information: https://docs.sony.com/release//Manual_4294472121.pdf ~Ralph
