This was the exact features I was looking for in a receiver to go with my pair of Cerwin Vega Re30 speakers. All I added was a single disc CD player and with the Aux input I can use my old school IPod classic 260gb. Glad I found this Sony classic style receiver. The big old school stereo systems have died out but this receiver brings my speakers back to life with simple style and power.

had most of what i needed to replace my old am/fm receiver that was 40 years old.
antenna was too short and single wire but not a big deal
turns itself off if i pause the cd player too long. annoying.
fm reception is marginal but adequate for the price
speaker connectors a bit hard to use getting the wire into them right
NO MAGNETIC PICKUP INPUT to connect turntable for vinyl LPs so HAD TO BUY A SEPARATE PREAMP. big flaw.
had a lot of extraneous other inputs. hope one of them will work with the turntable preamp okay if i can remember that the LPs are going to be called satellite or something else
nice remotes match the ones for the cd and dvd player and presumably motivation to buy a sony tv to make them all the same but samsung is far better and i already had that one
plenty of power for the speakers
sounds okay
way too many presets for the available am and fm stations. dont know why they dont just have one for every possible one on the dial.

I purchased this unit with some speakers and a new turntable (with preamp). In addition to records, I run my PS3 (Netflix/Rocksmith/CDS) to the unit and aux input. It looks clean, is easy to operate, and sounds great.
Downsides:
1) The remote is chock full of options you don't need and can't use. Not a big deal--still works fine.
2) It appears that you can relabel the inputs, but you have a list of set options. Again, not a deal breaker, but I was jazzed to be able to customize for ease of operation.
Bonus:
1) Not using them yet, but the additional 2 inputs give this some upside. I'm currently running through a pair of Bose 301s, but I might add some smaller satellite speakers later on for a surround sound feel.
2) Even though I'm in my basement, this unit picked up radio stations that I didn't know existed after years of scanning in my car. I don't use radio that often--mostly baseball games--but this was a pleasant surprise.

been without an amp for monthes, and saw this was an affordable option, doesn't have all the bells and whistles higher priced units would have, but as a basic amp, worth the money...
I don't know where some folks are getting the high watt rating they posted, it is exactly what it said in product literature, no more.
I'm satisfied, and wish I had double the power, but at the time I just wanted to hear music from my system again,
Sound is clean, and as I have extremely high power speakers, wish I had 200w per channel, but I'm happy.

I purchased this integrated amplifier for my daughter for her birthday. Was pleasantly surprised by the features and the ease of set up. The amplifiers power output was more than adequate for small bookshelf speakers. If you're on a budget and looking for a Integrated amplifier this one for the price seems to fit the bill. The package includes a wireless remote, detailed manual, quick set up guide and fm antenna. The unit easily connects to a television DVD Set top streaming box And features the convenience of the wireless remote.

Simple no frills receiver amp I purchased to push my old Polk T120e reference speakers. Connected to a DJ Tech M3 DJM303 mixer attached to a pair of Audio Technica LP1240s with Shure M447s for this old school bedroom DJ. Some folks here are complaining about the lack of options you would find on surround sound receivers. This is a simple 2 channel AM FM 200 watt receiver that is clearly advertised as such. It's a steal at $99 (sale). Clean sound with no humming. Love it and strongly recommend same.

I have this connected to a Sony turntable, Sony CD player, Vizio TV and Panasonic Blu-Ray DVD Player and going through a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers for all-purpose home entertainment in an average sized room (16' by 24'). The sound is rich without requiring excessive volume levels to bring out the full range. The first one I took home developed a short within the first 30 days but Best Buy exchanged it on the spot with no hassle.

An excellent and easy-to-use receiver. I didn’t need a lot of bells and whistles. This has plenty of inputs. I use my CD, mp3 and DVD players, TV, and Tape (the latter which I use for a Bluetooth adapter) for iPhone or iPad. The A and B speaker switch is easy. The remote is simple to use, too. If you are looking for a fine receiver at an economical price, this is it.

I bought a insignia receiver for for my two built in speaker in my room. Just for normal stereo use and Ipod/MP3. After about three years the it stopped turning on. So I got this as a replacement. It does sound better and sets up very easy. It has the basic amenities...sleep, display dimmer, station memory presets (lots of it) and modes. I am happy with the purchase so far.

Good solid sound. Easy to use and hook up. Pair with Bose speakers $150.00 at the Wrentham outlet for great crisp sound. Has a port that you can plug the TV headphone jack into so if you have a smart TV you can have Pandora on the stereo which was my purpose in buying this receiver plus with the bose speakers the sound I think is better than a home theater system and I paid 1/3 the price.

Our 20 year old tuner/amp finally blew out. We were not looking forward to the purchase of a new one and assumed all the choices would be expensive. We were surprised to find such a broad selection. Our requirements are fairly simple so a high end machine is simply overkill. This Sony certainely fit the bill. It has proved to be an excellent replacement. And all for less than $100.

This receiver was so good I bought two of them. I have two giant technique speakers and I can crank up the volume with no distortion. It sounds like the band is in my living room. The receiver was very easy to hook p as well. I also have my iPod hooked up to the receiver. Its great to b able to play over 5000 songs I have on it. For around hundred dollars it a steal!!!

This is a nice no frills stereo receiver. I use it for a turntable and it sounds great. I did get a bad one the first time. I plugged headphones in and something shorted out. I returned it for another one, and I have had no issues in the 8+ months since then. If you need a stereo receiver that won't break the bank, this one is a great option.

My old Fisher receiver finally quit working so I checked out some alternatives. This Sony receiver is outstanding - especially for the price. I was apprehensive when I bought it but have been very pleasantly surprised. It comes with a remote which is useful if you have music that requires a little volume adjustment. All in all a great receiver.

My receiver in the office finally broke down after 20 years. This Sony receiver is very simple. It is the smallest one that I have seen to fit into my small space. It does not have many fancy buttons or settings. It is simple and serves my needs. Connection and set up is simple. Very good buy.
