Does this take shots at night? Is it low exposure? null

This lens works well in low light and at dusk.

It just a matter of a high ISO. At 2.8 it is not bad at low light. I took this picture with the street light only. Shot 1/6 at 2.8 with ISO 12800.

Any lens can take shots at night. I don't know what you mean by "low exposure". Low light? Low ISO? If you want the best images at night you should be looking at a full frame camera with a wide aperture full frame lens of f/1.4 or better. This is an APS-C lens with f/2.8. It will work but quality will depend on your ISO. You can shoot at 100 ISO if you use a tripod and long shutter speed.

Do you want to ensure that you have some type a flash in order for to take low light pictures
