Hi CBLMAN, Thanks for inquiring about the KD-32W830K. HDR and screen resolution are independent specifications that both work in tandem to deliver an enjoyable viewing experience on the W830K. HDR is a contrast feature that also incorporates expanded color capabilities to playback HDR content closer to the creators intent.
