I own the Sony SEL35F18 35mm f/1.8 Fixed Lens and Sony FE 50mm F1.8 Lens. You did not specify which 50mm lens you are considering. The Sony SEL50F18 50mm f/1.8 Lens would be a closer match for comparison to the 35mm lens. Based on my experience I would recommend the 35mm lens since it would give you more flexibility with its 35mm focal length equivalent of 52mm as opposed to the short telephoto 35mm equivalent of 75mm with the 50mm lens. I keep the 35mm lens mounted on my SONY a6000 instead of the 16~50mm kit lens. I also own a Sigma 30mm F2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount and get consistently good comments on its performance on my camera. Auto focus is a little slow compared to my SONY 35mm lens but for the price I don't believe you can complain about its performance. It stays permananently mounted on my SONY NEX5!!! I also suggest that you read the reviews of the lenses you are considering as a further aid in your decision.
