DeannA would I not be able to use the Sony remote for the streaming? Does this mean I would still have to use two remotes? One for cable channels & one for streaming?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You cannot use the Sony TV Remote with your cable box channels because the newer year model TV Remotes no longer have numbers on them. You should be programming your Cable Company's provided remote to work with the TV Volume/Power etc. & use the Cable Provider remote as your primary remote control. This is something that the cable companies do they make it so you need their proprietary remote to work with their services and equipment.

We are sorry to hear you have this issue with your TV when trying to scan for channels, you may check a few settings on the TV to ensure everything is correct: 1- Power cycle: unplug the antenna from the back of the TV, unplug the TV from the wall outlet for about 2 minutes, plug your TV back in, once the TV is on, connect the antenna to the coaxial port on the TV. 2- Change signal type: go to settings > channels & inputs > channels > cable/antenna > signal type > antenna. 3- Do the auto program once more: go to settings > channels & inputs > channels > cable/antenna > auto program > yes. 4- Check Signal Strength: if you are using signal splitters for multiple TVs, the signal strength may decrease. Removing or adjusting these splitters might improve the signal. 5- Adjust Antenna Placement: try adjusting its position to better receive the signal. Different placements can significantly affect reception quality. Keep in mind that if you are using a cable box, you do not need to do the auto program since the channels are not coming from the TV but from the cable box.
