“Can you have the sound come out the tv and still have speakers hooked up? I have the speakers hooked up to the earphone jack, but I also want the sound to come out of the tv. Am I using the wrong jack? Can I have the sound come out of both?”

No if you plug in headset or speaker you will not get audio from the tv speakers. If you use a Bluetooth headset or a Bluetooth speaker you will get audio from both.
