“Does disabling the wifi in the settings actually stop the module from transmitting and searching, or, like older models, must it be manually unplugged inside the TV? I thought that mine was actually disabled until a friend checked with a meter.”

Hi, Marty! Yes, turning off the WiFi in the settings will stop the TV from searching for wireless networks. The Wifi is built-in into the TV, so it doesn't need to be manually unplugged. Hope this helps! -Sam
