Hi UniversalRemote, thank you for inquiring about the TV. Recommend using the remote that came with the TV. We can't guarantee that universal remote will work since there is no programming code available for the X800H. Erin

It is a smart TV so it can handle the universal remote that you have for your programming and as an added advantage you still can use the TV remote for your Wi-Fi connection. At least that is how I use mine when I go between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2.
