“What would be considered “adequate ventilation”? We have a cubby hole in a wall unit that our previous tv fit into. This tv would fit but there would be no room to spare. Is that a problem?”

Hi Bogart, The VESA Hole Pitch is (W x H) 100x200 mm / 4 x 7 7/8 inch. For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommends that the installation of your TV on the wall be performed by qualified professionals. Do not attempt to install it yourself. Never cover the ventilation holes or Never place the TV where ventilation openings may be blocked. Leave space around the TV. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.So I am going to make some presumptions here about your use of the term cubby hole ... The short answer would be 2" - 3" all the way around your Television should provide adequate ventilation. However, just a reminder that since your not wall mounting the unit you may wish to allow 12" minimum at the bottom of the cubby hole. The feet for the Television will need every bit of 12" for stability ... so I would add another 2" for a total of 14" for comfort. It's not about the depth of the Television, but the space or depth required once the feet are mounted.
