“The Xfinity-Comcast Cable prongs (White, Red, Yellow) that are to connect to the back of the TV are (to my awe) too small. That is, whereas they fit all former TV's, they will not stay in the TV ports, thus avoiding any (or a decent) connection.”

It looks like you might need a new Xfinity box which is just an exchange. You want a HDMI connection between cable box & TV.
