• The TV has many, but not all the apps present on the Apple TV. For instance, if you want Netflix or Amazon prime, these apps are available on this TV so you don't need an Apple TV. However, if you want Apple TV plus, you need an Apple TV.

• I disconnected my Apple TV from this set, because Apps has everything I was using the Apple for. Now there is no need for a separate streaming device.
