• It's 43 inches wide...might just barely fit into a 43-inch opening.

• Hey Gregg, I was thinking about geometry and realized that a 48" diagonal could not produce a 47 " base. I measured it again and found my memory was faulty. Actual base width is 43". So you are in luck with your available space. Mea Culpa.

• Horizontal measurement is 47". I bought a stand that is 47" and it fits perfectly on it.
