Yes buy an adapter /converter at the same time and it will work just fine.Depending on how long you plan to stay in Asia it could make sense to purchase electronics once there

There are some requirements for compatibility: First, the power requirement (voltage) is 120V for UL cUL AC/ 110-240V for other. Second, many foreign countries use a different video format standard to broadcast and display video. There are three major video format standards used around the world: National Television System Committee (NTSC), Phase Alternating Line (PAL), and Sequential Color and Memory (SECAM).
