    Amazing 4K Sony Bravia TV!!

This is a amazing great 4K TV, lots of hookup. very great picture. Easy set up, android tv is very easy, i was testing the 4k resolution with the Mad Max movie, simply gorgeous. The sound is excellent too, optional if you buy a sound bar but with youtube and netflix, without problems. By the way, the price was excellent, small discount. Would recommend to anybody on the fence of a 4K purchase. If you watch lots of movies on demand, the X830C is a better choice, better for off-angle viewing, the bezel is small and the TV is quite thin, excellent for games, low input lag and for monitor is great, support 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4 chroma. By the way, reflect a lot of light, there is also glare around bright objects but if you are in a dark environment, excellent, no problems!!

I have 2 Pioneer Elite 42" plasmas, and have wanted to get a 49" for my country kitchen but have not liked the LED picture performance and video shadowing/lag particularly in B/W and movies. The Sony 4G and Brava chip converted me. This is one awesome picture and smart device that functions perfectly with the new X1 platform (also awesome) from Xfinity/Comcast. Best Buy also had the best price and the product in stock.

I absolutely love this television! The picture in non 4K is great, but in 4K I was just blown away by the clarity and vibrant colors. This is one purchase you won't regret.

I actually walked into the store to purchase the 1080p W800C, when an associate had an open box of this set for almost $100 less than the W800C. It was brand new and never even taken out or turned on. So the decision to purchase it was a no brainer. 120hz panel, 4K resolution, smaller pixel density, and I cannot rave enough about the X1 scaler. 1080p content still looks crisp due to how well the scaler handles it. I was adamant to get 4K due to the fact I mainly play video games, but when I seen a PS4 running on a Sony 4K, it made the decision to get this much easier. It looks native due to the fantastic scaling tech they use as well as the even resolution scale of exactly 2 times height and width. I did return one for another due to light bleed being heavier than I liked, and the second set I have is much better in that regards, especially with minor tips I read online to help eliminate it more. I only have one issue, and hope a Sony Rep can comment on, the bottom left of the screen, against the TV frame edge, has a slight bright over saturation of a blueish tint from the bottom corner, about 3 inches long, and only about 3/8 inches wide. It is mainly apparent in white or blue/violet/green scenes displayed on screen (i.e. Playstation 4 dashboard). It is not as noticeable with film watching. I could not find any information about this anomaly online anywhere.

Great First 4K TV for Your Home

I have purchased a number of 1080P TVs in the past. I highly recommend this TV since it was a great step up from my 1080P versions. I increased my Netflix account to allow for 4K and now see a whole category section of movies/ TV shows which are filmed in 4K now. Its a night and day difference as long as you are not so far away from the TV. This was mounted on our bedroom wall and I think its a perfect distance laying in bed, its a 14x14 size room. I have the 1st Apple TV and Xbox 360 to watch netflix/hulu etc... This TV is super fast starting up and when I press play on a Netflix movie. The 150MBPS download speed I have helps as well, but the processor in this set is fast. Even over the air TV looks much better because of the up-converting processor. I love that I can watch YouTube 4K videos on this TV super easy as well, the mirroring from my iPhone works very well, just had to test a few different apps on my phone. I dont think you will be disappointed in this TV, just get it on sale to save at least $100. Purchased mine for 789. I love watching House of Cards on this TV so I can take advantage of the full 4k experience. :)

The Sony 4K TV is one of the best units that I've purchased over the years. While most signals are not 4K, the unit makes all media look even better. The design is sleek and doesn't interfere with my sound system, which makes me very thankful. The installation was very simple too, which saved me fees.

Great HD tv to upgrade to. From the vibrant colors to the remarkable detailed imaging, will totally amaze any consumer. The sound quality is truly phenomenal and I took this experience to the next level by adding a sound bar and subwoofer. Now my bedroom is a mini theater.

I previously owned a cheaper uhd tv, but I decided to upgrade to the Sony 49inch 4k with the 1x Chip. Best decision I've ever made. Picture quality is phenomenal, barely any frame, all tv screen and amazing color. The blue shirt sales associate was very helpful during my purchase. I'm happy I chose the 4k sony over the Samsung S-UHD. Motion clarity is remarkable. Highly recommend it. And they WILL price match even though they have already matched 95% of prices.

There was an issue with the Sony Screen

I will never buy a Sony flat screen TV again. It worked fine for less than a year and then a black line appeared across the screen and the lower half continues to go out of focus. After looking into this more I found that both Sony and Best Buy knew about this issue and never told me. I was told buy Geek Squad it would be replaced. I get a run-a-round when ever I call or they don't answer the phone or they hang up.

More tech insight on the refresh rate drama

I'm writing this in hopes it helps anyone that is looking for a Ultra HD TV in the near future.... I recently saw a Sharp 4k tv and bought it assuming it said it had 120 refresh rate and drove all the way home and before opening the box read online about how companies like to put fake advertising on their products when it comes to getting a smooth playback refresh rate of 120hz. The sharp did say it had it, but it wasn't native 120hz, just some mumbo jumbo aquomotion 120 which means nothing! Get that tv and you will experience judder playing 4k movies or bluray movies and you will see what I mean when there's fast action sequences in movies and games along with lag. I should have investigated more online and discovered Sony as such this tv also has a a fancy term called 120 trumotion but indeed, even though it says that ..the tv is truly 120hz native. I had three different guys point out that almost all Sony 4k TV's have 120hz and sharp and Samsung is a toss up unless you're paying more than 1,400 you might get one with the desired 120hz. So basically yes the Sharp was pretty, but at 650.00 yeah, you get what you pay for and I wasn't gonna settle. This sony tv has android built in and able to install apps compatible with Television and even some games! The games are played easily with a PlayStation 4 controller which I have. It also has PlayStation Now which has hundreds of games to play and most of them are classic playstation 3 titles. Again only compatible with a PS4 controller not a ps3 controller. The glare is somewhat bothersome and getting the right settings and you can find that on some websites that will help you if you put the model number on google along with tv settings and will make a drastic difference. UHD Netflix works and is certified to work with this television. I say this because NOT all 4k TV's work with netlfix new ultra hd service. Gaming with XboxOne seems so much better coming from a 1080p also. Hope this nerdy insight helps some.

Great 4K Ultra HD TV for Beginners

Purchased/installed 12/26/2015. Got a great Deal/Promotion that had been the same price from back ON Black Friday. Also it was very refreshing to have been approached by a BB Agent that really knew His stuff regarding the 4K experience. He even knew details exclusive only to the Sony Brand of Ultra HD TV's. Knew this from my online research before entering the store. If you have never been introduced to 4K TV, this is the one for You (comes in 43 inch for smaller spaces). Try to get at least a 50 inch to really realize the technology. Consider myself to be slightly above average with techie products. Had no problems setting this up (but I'm a Product Guide/Instruction reader prior to purchase...IKR, wanna be a little pass the learning curve if possible), still a slight learning curve though. Once I went online (good information there on how to set this up for best color, contrast, sound, and how much 4K upgrading you desire. Already had the Sony STR-1050, and Sony BDP-s7200,from Best Buy, so this TV has integrated seamlessly with/into my Home System (Man Cave). The Color is outstanding. How is it possible (to my eye at least) that this screen shows even detail that your natural eye misses or does not register if you had the item in your hand or was standing if front of the same scene/view ??? The Android software that is used here is a little quirky at times. But no more so then on your cell phone or tablet. It's worth the time to set up all the accounts from Google and the Play Store. Speaking of Android, good grief, there is no need for cable, satellite, or any other high price viewing option. All you need: an affordable streaming service or two (typically $8.99 or more per month) and you are on your way to TV/4K Ultra HD viewing experiences that can only be seen to describe. Football game are so intense now, with seeing even the blade of grass or the composition of the AstroTurf. The Screen Mirroring option that lets you can see on the TV what is on your cell phone/tablet works very well, have tried on other tv's with little or not success. Don't have room here for all the accolades. Anxious to see how the whole 4K TV, video, streaming experience plays out and the 4K Blu-Ray players that are expected to show up in the spring of 2016. Let me know if you want more info or suggestions regarding: Sony XBR49X830C LED Smart 4K Ultra HD TV, at Google+ using this nickname.
