Nice looking TV with a good realistic picture. Having trouble with Netflix, Hulu, etc working sometimes and sometimes not. Set up was fairly straightforward, except I had to enter my router and password info repeatedly. Don't know if it was an issue with AT&T or the TV. Still trying to keep my cable cut.

The sony 4k tv has a great picture and is easy to set up. the picture quality is all that one could hope for. the sound is good when you add a sound bar.Now all we need is more 4k programing from the providers.

I got this TV because I currently have a specific corner in my room where I have to put the television. It was the best compromise of picture quality and size. Although it doesn't have some of the picture quality adjustments and enhancements of other Larger Sonys I like the quality of picture. I will say that you need to calibrate the TV before it looks good. Out of the box, the picture quality left much to be desired (It was significantly worse than my old TV that it was replacing. I did some adjustments at first with no success, but I needed to do an all out calibration before the picture looked really good. Other than that I would recommend this to anyone who needs a smaller 4K TV. If you have the space, I'd spring for the larger models, but overall I've owned a lot of Sony TVs, and they've never disappointed. This is no exception

Fantastic picture, OK sound without soundbar. Nice collection of apps. Easy to use advanced functions. Wish it came with the touchpad remote but able to order from Sony for about $70 after tax and shipping.

Been out of the home theater market since 08 and was in Best Buy and viewed all the TVs on display.....many were appealing but Sony was the best and its a brand I've relied on since the 80's. 4K is dazzling and at times appears to be 3D. I compared it to my Bravia Hi-def I bought in 08 and it's picture quality is amazing. I got lucky on the day I bought mine as Best Buy had an open box unit and I saved a $100 more on cost.
The only negative thing about this TV is Sony's love affair with Android....to each his own but Sony should remember there are a lot of Apple fans out there too.....in this highly competitive world Sony should make a product that that incorporates all the choices people make in their smartphones!

First 4K UHD - Best 4K UHD

Prior to purchase I spent plenty of hours reading reviews from countless online tech magazines and consumers...there seemed to be a very thin line of which 4K UHD TV was best in this price and size range. After spending a little time with both Samsung and Sony in store, and based on Android OS and PS3 PS Now connectivity, I felt confident this was the right choice. After un-boxing, setup was easy, and the TV is beautiful, pictures online don't do it justice. This 49" is in fact for my "man cave" and though we have a larger 60" 1080P HDTV in the living room, this has become the go to TV for anything sports or movie related for the whole family...it truly is that much of a difference. I did find a little tweaking to the advanced picture settings was necessary, however I find myself easily changing between picture presets depending on what I am watching. Watching TV at night in a dark room is great and glare in the daytime is virtually unnoticeable. The Android OS is seamless, allowing easy transitions between apps, customizable settings, and generaly easy navigation. We are all about Apple, my family has countless products from iPhones, iPads, Macs abound...but this Android OS is fantastic! If you are looking for a semi-budget UHD TV, I highly recommend any size of the Sony XBR line, you will not regret your purchase.

I love this TV. It's a breeze to setup! The picture is excellent, resolution, color and contrast are great. It's much better than the TV that we had. The smart TV functions are also really nice.

After purchasing the 65" tv for our family room in our new home we decided to purchase a RV fro the bedroom. So we decided to pick up the same model in a smaller size. LOVE these tV's! Great Picture Quality, and easy set up. When our Rec Room is done you can bet that I will get the same for there.

This Sony TV has a great picture and was very easy to set up. We have Directv and it went fine setting it up except we haven't figured out how to not have to use the Sony remote for turning the TV off. Very happy with picture quality!

We visited Best Buy on Thanksgiving evening to pick up a small electronics item. We were blown away by the sale prices on the Ultra HD-TVs. While in the store we did crash-course research on the internet via smartphone, comparing features, prices and reviews. We aimed for a 60" UHDTV at under $1,000. We selected one by another manufacturer at the price point we wanted, and we asked for experienced input from two of the employees. One fellow said that for the price, we should consider this 49" Samsung for the improved picture. We liked what we saw on a demo. We brought the Samsung home and set it up immediately. The brilliance and sharpness of the images was astounding! We added a sound bar to match sound to the dramatic visual effects.
If you are the technical type who loves to read specifications, I'm not much help to you. But if you want a beautiful home theatre experience with richness and clarity that makes your old TV cringe with embarrassment, then I can recommend this Samsung 49" UHDTV to you with confidence.

This TV has an amazing picture, even with the quality of transmission through normal channels (which is not yet 4k quality). It's great to have a Smart TV that works with wireless wifi. We are really pleased with our purchase.

Very good color. It will have to be adjusted for best picture.
Tested the color next to the Samsung models that i was going to buy.
Sony wasn't even in the running. But it was a better 4K T.V.
It also can play PlayStation Games that's built in.
The biggest gripe I have is that it doesn't have a internet browser.

I've had the TV for a few months now and we are very impressed. The Android system is the best of all the TV's we have...Samsung, Panasonic. Its user interface is so easy to use and it has a wide selection of apps. The picture is great...there is some occasional light bleed in the corners but seems to have gotten much better since the TV's last update. All in all we are very happy with the purchase. We will be buying a 65" for our living room soon and it will most definitely be a Sony.

Set-up was quick, although not exactly painless. If you want to use this set for it's Android TV functionality prepare for at least 10-15 minutes of set up before you even begin adjusting the picture quality settings to your liking. After that the picture is great, been using it for blu-rays and video games, everything is sharp and detailed. However, a new update pushed down from the cloud recently and it's been bothersome. It added some security functionality and Netflix but now the TV has more wi-fi issues. I went back to previous software and the issue disappeared but now every time I turn on the TV it asks about installing the newest update. Still giving it 4 stars based on the build quality, picture quality, and overall appearance. I would probably suggest getting a regular 4k TV and just plugging in a chromecast, it's much easier.

The colors and detail on this TV are great. The setup routine lets you customize many features so it is pretty easy to setup for any room. The 4K upscale from my bluray is great and I'm very happy with the movies.

I read the other reviews and was a bit hesitant due to some early problems before they had the software perfected, but the BestBuy sales clerk said that this would be an excellent TV for the bedroom. I took his word for it and made the purchase. It did take about 30 min for the software to update after the initial hookup, but it was smooth sailing after that. Connection to Wifi was fine and all apps that I tried worked fine. Picture was excellent. No noticeable light bleeding was observed near the edges during dark scenes. Viewing of sports has been great.
My fears about buying an edge-lit panel were unfounded. I would recommend this purchase. I was very careful not to apply any rough handling or twisting to the screen when taking it out of the box. I was able to remove it from the box and install the TV on floor stand all by myself, but I wouldn't have been able to do it if the TV was any bigger.
