Screen looks great. The sale price at $999.99 is outstanding. TV looks bigger than a 49in. TV. Once you have it at home away from all the other big screen TV's. This puppy owns your place. Word of advice. All manufactures set their TV's settings to claim they save you money yearly. This TV is no different. Set your TV to Vivid mode to take advantage of the clarity of the screen. And turn off the dimming mode so it wont get all dark on you in a dark environment. Also remember that 4k content is not fully deployed so do not blame the TV. Blame yourself for wanting the latest and greatest. =) 5 stars.

This is a steal for the price they are charging! I love this TV! It's a smart TV that is very fast, so you won't need to use any other device to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube, or whatever. The picture is beautiful, clear, with rich blacks. Setup was easy. The menus are a little clunky but easy enough, There are advanced menus to really set it up exactly how you want, or you can just use it as it comes out of the box. I ended up turning down the "soap opera effect" a little. Don't remember now what it was called on this TV. Though there is limited 4k content out there, it's great to have a 4k TV now. I've watched quite a bit of 4k on Youtube and Netflix and you can tell the difference. The detail is incredible.

Picture Quality very good. Set-up was a breeze. The 4k image is simply amazing. Not much programming available in 4k, but what we've seen on Amazon and Netflix blows us away. We're looking forward to more. Be aware that because some of the features are software driven, you will need to run software updates on occasion. Running the software update is not a difficult matter and does not require a degree in rocket science. The television works well in all modes. We watch using a cable box (dishnetwork) and we watch programming from Netflix and Amazon delivered over the interwebs via wifi network. All modes work well. The television works well. We are very happy with the purchase and we are happy with the shopping experience at Best Buy.

Love it, no real issues, couple silly things

First off, the TV is wonderful and worth every penny. Picture is great. I bought it for two primary reasons, ability to watch Vudu and to get something that wouldn't feel like a space heater in my bedroom after an hour (had a Sony LCD prior). It delivers, Vudu works great as do the other features. Heat? None that I've noticed. The only two issues I have with the tv are kind of silly things. One is that the Sleep Timer is buried pretty deep in the settings and there is no shortcut to get to it. Might be something Sony fixes in an update sometime, they have a lot of customers complaining about it. The other issue is that when there is an update for the TV, it pops up and asks you while you are watching tv if you want to update now. If you accidently say yes, you're stuck for about an hour waiting on it and can't watch anything. If you say no, it says it'll install when it is in standby mode but I've not noticed that actually occurring and in the end I've had to update it manually the two times it has had an update. One other thing that comes to mind is that it would be nice if the remote had a flip out keyboard. Neither of those things would keep me from recommending this TV though, I love it!

Let me start by saying this TV is great and I would till recommend it to everyone its great for Xbox One Gaming it has a Fast refresh rate Bright Colors only downfall is that you will have to adjust the contrast on ur TV to get it perfect that took me an hr or 2 to get it where I like. Oh yeah BTW Make sure you set ur TV to Gaming Mode and set the Color To "Neutral" to get the best contrast. But there is a issue with how the tv displays the color red to give an example of the color I'm talking about its the red color on the buffering wheel on Netflix!! Sometimes it will display a green overlay on top of the red buffering wheel now this isn't always a issue but its random I don't think it's a problem with the TV but I do this its a software issue with how it displays that color red, other red colors are fine.

Originally, I brought home a Samsung 4k UHD tv. Big mistake! The action scenes in my favorite show hurt my eyes! The BB salesman had told me that I might have problems, but I had fallen in love the the Samsung picture quality. I returned that tv and go this one. I absolutely love it! I am no youngster, but putting on the base stand and setting it up to cable and the DVD player was not a problem. The tv sets itself up on the wifi, gets you going with Amazon and Netflix, and in no time is good to go. Action scenes are great, picture is fabulous! Watched a non blu ray DVD on it last night and wow! What a picture! You would never know it was not blu ray. PS: I had decided on a Bose sound box even before choosing a tv, because I like crisp sound. It fits perfectly under the tv stand!

We actually purchased two of these TV's. The picture is crystal clear. The sound is great. The kids love easy access to Netflix/smart tv options. Don't love the stand, just not our style. Although it is stable, we chose to mount them on the wall!

Buying a Sony Bravia instead of another leading brand was one of the best decisions I ever made. Being a true Android TV, you can choose to install any app available on the Play Store or the Sony Store. Like any other android device you also have the capability to install apps from 3rd party. The picture quality is wonderful - as expected from a Sony. The darks are darker and the whites whiter The remote control sometimes hangs for a few seconds, but I guess it is more to do with any android device and the processing speed. The option of playing Play Station streaming games is an added advantage. The downloaded smart phone remote control app is a perfect companion for easy search and voice commands as well as net surfing

    Fantastic 4K TV

I am not a television connoisseur. Like everyone else, I try to look at reviews as well as in-store models when making my selection. I have to say, for the price, this is a wonderful television. It comes with four HDMI ports which, I think is a real plus, all support full 4K video. Although I am an Apple person, this television comes with an MHL HDMI port. This port can also be set to charge your device if necessary. Although it probably said this on the box, and I didn't read it, it has google chrome cast built into it. When you download the App to take advantage of Chromecast on your wireless device, it works very well. As the television has built-in Wi-Fi, it also has an ethernet jack on the back as well. I don't know if the ethernet jack supports gigabit ethernet but it does support 100. For a television, the picture is extremely crisp and the Colors and brightness are excellent. This television is also a smart TV. I am still getting used to the apps but I tend to use the chrome cast feature most often, YouTube, and Netflix. With this particular television, you can pay an additional charge for Netflix that will give you access to 4K video. I am currently testing that out right now and so far I like it a lot. After using the television for little bit, I am very satisfied with this TV. I only have a few cons. First, I had decided to update the television's software before I started to really get into it and use it. I have updated many devices before but the length of time that it took for this to update was close to 30 minutes if not more. Second, the home screen is a bit confusing to set up. I'm still playing around with that and I'm still not happy but it is certainly not a dealbreaker. Third, OK Schenely my remote control will suddenly stopped working with the television. I'm not sure if the television is buffering something but after a few moments, it works again. Lastly, I know on android devices there is a way to close programs and/or uninstall programs. I found that option on the television itself but I thought it was very confusing because in addition to the apps that I know should be currently running (ex. Netflix, Pandora, etc.) you also see the operating system programs running as well. These programs number over 100 probably. After having an issue with Netflix not working correctly, I had to call tech-support. Although calling tech-support was a very easy process (even though the person I was talking to had a very strong accent) we were still able to get my television back up and running like normal within a few minutes. This was probably in the manual but I found out that you can reboot the television by holding down the power button on the remote control for a little over five seconds. This can often fix a number of issues if you're having them on your television. Because of these few cons, that is why I gave this television only four stars… But really this is a five star television. I would highly recommend this television to anyone. I may purchase another one for one of my other bedrooms. It is a great TV.

Good HDTV, but don't fall for the oversell

The TV is just fine; great picture, definitely better than my older HDTV (circa 2010). I like that it is essentially a large computer, being connected to the internet with access to things like Google, TED and YouTube. HOWEVER, don't fall for the sell job that you can get all of the PS4 games (so no need for a separate PS4 purchase) and all your Android/iPhone apps through the TV - it just isn't true. Yes, you get PS4 functionality, but the games available (even if you pay) are highly limited. And as for apps - again, very limited. After a few calls to Sony, come to find out that the software on the TV is not fully capable of loading all the apps that you can find for your Android device! Yes, your smart phone has better software than this TV. I was surprise on this one, as I was told that the computer part of the TV was highly advanced and the software would be continually updated to create a better viewing experience over time. So now I will have to wait (with fingers crossed) to be able to use some of my Android apps on the TV (e.g., Madden NFL, Candy Crush). As for PS4, this sucker now has another item on the list of assets that need to be purchased.

Bought this TV because of the wide viewing angle offered by the IPS screen. Not a bad seat in the room. Was concerned about the lower rated contrast ratio, with IPS panels, but it hasn't shown to diminish the picture in home lighting levels. Calibration seems to be awesome right out of the box, reviews of this model seem to verify. Details are simply amazing. Being a Smart TV is a great bonus . Screen mirroring with tablet works great! No regrets buying this TV.

Overall this TV does a lot the features are 2nd to none, the picture quality was great at bestbuy bu the 4k on netflix, and ultra flix seems like 3k at the house most likely a band width issue. The remote is good with solid feeling feedback and many options making it quick to get where you want, when will they make it back lit? They really need to spend the extra 5 bucks to put an led on the remote as night time usage can be a little awkward. We have a rather large room and replaced a sharp 43" 4k through the best buy protection plan as parts where unavailable by the 15th day to fix the wireless problems that TV had. Toping it off was a sale bestbuy was having enabling us to purchase this bad boy for 799. I can now read the small print on menus and the like and the TV fit on the same stand we purchased for the 43" sharp it replaced, didn't even have to move it. Very happy with purchase and best buys protection plan. Thanks geeks you guys rock in my book.

This TV is great! Very clear and the color is great. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the remote is not sensitive enough..or has too much lag or something. For example, you want to increase the volume. You push the increase volume button, but nothing happens. You push it again or hold it down...suddenly, it is at FULL volume. Same thing with power button: many times I have pushed it, then pushed again thinking it didn't work, only to turn the TV off and on again.

I purchased this T.V. the week before Black Friday and have been amazed at how well it's performed. The picture quality is beautiful, the up scaling of blu-ray to 4K is just great. All the built in apps makes it so easy to navigate to the different features and programs you're looking for. I especially like the fact that I can do screen mirroring with my samsung tablet. The speakers are not the greatest, but something that a sound bar can easily fix. I'm so glad that I bought this TV, and would recommend it to anyone.

Was in the market for a tv upgrade for the bed room. Originally was settled on a different manufacturer when the Best Buy guru told me to take a look at this Sony. After seeing the display versions of the larger and smaller size, as well as remembering that my longest lasting electronic products have been Sony products, I choose this particular tv. This tv is my first step into the 4K market. After going through its set up the quality of the picture is very impressive, the brighter colors are vivid and darker colors are still well defined. This tv is definitely worth considering even if it's on the upper end of your budget

We wanted a larger screen than our 32" AOC digital TV we bought from Radioshack a few years back. First I bought a Sony 50" Bravia(don't remember the model #), and the problem was the speakers were too small. It never said online or in the store, so we didn't know until we got that one home. 8W speakers are just too small They were smaller than on our 32" tv. So, returned it. Decided to get a Samsung 48"; great picture and l0W speakers. Forgot to mention until buying it that I listen almost 100% of the time using earphones; problem no headphone jack; was told to use the "audio out jack." I didn't get very much volume.Returned the Samsung 48". Bought a 50" NEW in May,2015 4K Sony TV. Too many problems with it; altho I don't want to use the smart feature, the TV kept freezing up, and Sony agreed they've had like 4-6 updates in the first 30 days with it and they were "still developing it." Really good picture, and sound very good with l0W speakers. Best Buy told me to try another one of the same model and likely we wouldn't have the same problem but we did. Long story short: We bought this 2014 Sony 55" 4K HD TV, after reading 398some reviews of how well it worked! Sony said they had "fully developed this TV." Great! We bought it and LOVE it! FINALLY BOTH A GREAT PICTURE, (sharp), AND very good sound, and NO freezing up or problems! And, it has a dedicated headphone jack so I hear everything just as well as I should and no reduced volume. The LAST THING we wanted to do was to have to constantly "update" a TV! Why release a product UNTIL it's developed! Gimme a break. You would think the newest product this year would be best, but LAST YEAR'S PRODUCT BETTER! And, no, we didn't want a sound bar yet; and that would NOT have solved getting "enough sound" through my earphone problem as we tried that on every sound bar at Best Buy! Sony PLEASE KEEP MAKING TVS WITH DEDICATED EARPHONES FOR THOSE OF US WHO NEED THEM! And, thanks for this particular 4K TV....PICTURE AND SOUND GREAT! Just wanted a TV that works well!

The Sony Android TV is a very nice set, but you really need to update the firmware first, it improves the picture quality and operating speed of the TV. The TV up scales video games very nicely, making some games look a lot better than on a 1080p set. It also makes movies with lots of effects look fantastic. Guardians of the Galaxy was a real stand out. Broadcast TV can be a little sketchier. It all depends on the source. The higher the resolution it is broadcast in, the better the TV makes it look. Anything under 720 can look pretty gnarly, washed out and grainy. But 1080 shows look fantastic. Overall it is a fantastic set and a great deal for the price. But make sure you know what you are using it for first and that you can update the firmware.

At this time I am only using an inexpensive television antenna and wi-fi even with just that the image is amazing. I watch a lot of YouTube videos. The remote control that was provided is not one that I would recommend to search YouTube videos. I would have prefer a touch screan keyboar to ez my search. Unfortunately Chinese is not a language you can select to search YouTube videos. Other than those two wanted features, I enjoy watching this 4K television.
