• Totally depends on your receiver/ amp and speakers. Otherwise sony pre-amps always produce decent quality sound.

• Greetings Chillygirl, I think you should be fine. I replaced several of my Denon CD players with the Sony CDP CE500 and have been very pleased. Depending on the receiver you plan to plug this CD player into, make sure you are using the CD or AUX input.

• I believe the audio quality is certainly up to playing this kind of music. I enjoy classical recordings and this machine plays them well.
