I would say this is not the best lens for landscape photography, but it definitely can be, but you might not get the shots you want. The 50mm is better for portrait photography. If you are looking for a prime lens that would be good for landscape photography, I would suggest the 35mm. To be very honest, if you don’t have a lot of money, the kit lens can definitely do the trick too at a more reasonable price if you can afford the other Sony lens.
