“We are looking for set up for our dining room. Listened to demos on YouTube & these speakers sounded really trill & shrill. Although rated for 6ohm, could the receiver be paired with 8ohm 50watt Polk speakers I have instead for hopefully better sound?”

I don't think this unit has enough power to drive a better set of speakers. I'd suggest getting a more powerful unit if you want better sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Speaker replacement would be difficult, because the connections are small, single plug-ins. However, the speakers are really matched well with the receiver. I have all the range that I want, the unit also has, "Base Boost", that might work for you. My system sounds great in a 12X12 size room.
