Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the TV is 120hz I believe but from my understanding nothing is in 120hz or higher anyways and is just a marketing tool.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Refresh rates are ALWAYS played with in ALL manufacturer's marketing of their TV's. That's a known fact. This Sony TV has a 'native' refresh rate of 120HZ. However, Sony uses a fancy term called Motionflow to describe their motion enhancing. The TV has Sony's Motionflow960 technology which is a fancy way of saying that they have added picture/backlight technology on top of the LCD panel's native refresh rate to make fast moving images on screen clearer. Pretty much all 4K TV's today at this price point and above are 120HZ native. Some of the less expensive 4K TV's use a cheaper 60HZ LCD panel, hence one reason why they are less expensive. IMO, unless you are willing or can afford to shell out hundreds of dollars more for an LG OLED TV, this one is really good for what it offers. Had mine for almost two months and once I got the custom picture settings to my liking I love it. Motion blur is not bad at all. No more worse than most of the competing TVs in this price / feature range. I'm not a huge sports watcher so most of the TV I watch isn't really fast moving like sports where motion blur is see the most often. Picture Processing section shows native rate: http://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/xbr-x850d-series/specifications Another resource: http://www.gadgetreview.com/120hz-vs-240hz-vs-60hz-refresh-rate 2013 article, but the refresh rate concept still applies: https://www.cnet.com/news/fake-refresh-rates-is-your-tv-really-120hz/
