• The Sony XBR55X850D does have "Local Dimming" that uses LED Zones, it is used "Edge Backlighting". See http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x850d for an in depth review and specs. Per rtings "There is no local dimming feature on this TV. If you want that feature, you should go with the pricier X930D instead."
