Yes, I would still source an external system. The sound is better than TVs in the past, but it's not stellar. I recommend a sound bar or 5.1 system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I went for a couple of weeks to test the sound on this tv. Then went out and got a sound bar - not a total waste, as the bass is the most notable sound that's improved. However, if I has to do it over, wouldn't waste the $$ on a sound bar
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi JohnP, Hi JohnP, thanks for your inquiry. The sound from the built-in speaker is already good enough. With Acoustic Surface Audio+, the screen is the speaker. This advanced screen-speaker technology microscopically vibrates the TV panel to produce sound from the entire screen which creates acoustics that is perfectly in sync with the picture. With sound and picture in perfect harmony, you'll hear more realistic sound and exceptionally clear dialog. Built-in subwoofers provide powerful bass for immersive cinematic sound. You can also add a soundbar or an external system depending on your preference. I hope this helps. Regards, Erin
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound is quite good on this TV (actually, the entire TV is quite good), so I find it perfectly acceptable to watch things such as news/weather/sports channels, and anything other than movies. However, we do use a sound bar w/sub for movies, as no TV can deliver the lower freqs. If you like watching moves, definitely keep the sound bar.
