“Old tv not 4K. Are new HDMI cables needed for this tv to get 4k value? Is DVD player need to be upgraded to Blue ray 4k in order to get full quality picture? What additional changes need to be addressed to get the max picture on this model tv? Thanks”

Hi stormin, thanks for your interest in our BRAVIA XR A80J. The A80J has superb picture quality. To best enjoy the 4K features of the TV, do the following: Install the latest software update. Be sure to have a Premium High Speed HDMI® cable (up to 18Gbps) when viewing 4K video content. Connect a 4K player such as UBP-X1100ES, UBP-X800M2, UBP-X800, UBP-X700 Set HDMI signal format to Enhanced format. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button. Select Settings or the Gear icon icon. Select External inputs in the TV category. Select HDMI signal format and set to Enhanced format. You will enjoy a premium OLED picture with contrast and color that feels deep, natural, and real.
