“I am purchasing the Sony A80J OLED to replace a Pioneer plasma tv . Will I need to replace my Direct TV DVR and or cables to get the full 4k OLED experience ? Also , will I need to upgrade my Playstation 3 to a 4 or 5 ? Thanks .”

Hi plasmaguy, thank you for your question. You can connect your cable box to the TV as long as it has the same corresponding port such as HDMI. To get full 4K experience, both devices must support 4K and using a hi-speed HDMI cable is required. In addition, if you are using DIRECTV app, we're sorry, but it is not currently possible to install the DIRECTV app onto this A80J series as of the moment. You can only download apps compatible with your TV, and they may differ from apps for mobile devices. For you dvr I’m not sure if support 2.0 or 2.1 hdmi cable just call direct tv . If you want the best for video games ps5 support 2.1 hdmi and vrr make it best for graphics and everything.
