Yes you can skip setting up Google tv and do the basic tv setup. I then plugged my Apple TV into hdmi 4 (because it’s both hdmi 2.0, and 2.1) and used hdmi 3 (earc) for my atmos sound bar which requires the earc. Smooth sailing after that and no hassle dealing what Google’s smart tv dashboard which doesn’t let you opt out of ads.

Use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable which supports Enhanced format (18Gbps). Set the HDMI signal format for the connected HDMI port to Enhanced format.
