A:Answer After unpacking mine, I really think that is an urban myth, or reports from people receiving a "previously opened" box. Unless the outside box is badly damaged, it is impossible for anything to come in contact with the screen while the box is unopened. Sony did a really good job in designing the box. It is ingenious, really. The way the Styrofoam supports the screen and supports the distance between the front of the screen, you would have to, literally, drop the box, face down on a vertically protruding edge, from a considerable distance, to get anything to make contact with the screen. Ask somebody at the store to show you how it comes packed from the factory and you will understand what I am verbally trying to explain
